Are you a part of an existing group of backpackers affiliated with and dedicated to advancing the Girl Scout mission? Do you work directly with Girl Scouts educating and/or leading them on backpacking trips? Then we want you to join us! Have access to all of our events, share your resources, bolster your own, and enjoy fellowship with other outdoorswomen and men.

Individuals

Are you a backpacking enthusiast who wants to share their knowledge and passion with Girl Scouts? Then we want you too!

If you are looking for a group to join, please visit our Member Groups page and contact the group that feels right for you. We have official council trainer groups, resident camps with backpacking programs, volunteer based interest groups, and troops as members. Each group has its own membership requirements and training progressions; being a registered adult Girl Scout with a completed background check is a national volunteer requirement.

Can't find a group in your area? Can't a find a group that fits your interests? We can help you! CAGS Backpackers can connect you with Girl Scout backpacking trainers, interest groups, troop leaders, and members who have built backpacking programs from the ground up. Part of our mission is to engage more Girl Scouts in backpacking and strengthen the national program by helping other volunteers build new programs across California and beyond.

We can provide you with start-up strategies, training outlines, manuals and materials, and help you connect with your local council. We will be here for you whenever you may need our assistance.
